Package: Intro to Block Printing & Repeat Patterns (April 4 & 5, 2024)

This package of workshops will get you started with stamp carving, block printing and repeat patterns. It's the perfect place to start and get the most out of these sessions (and save compared to buying the individual workshops).

In these two introductory workshops, I will walk you through the basics of stamp carving and block printing:

  • Learn about the tools and materials needed
  • Master the art of stamp carving
  • Create your first block prints

And I will get you started with block printed repeat patterns: 

  • Understand how repeat patterns work in the context of block printing
  • Learn the process of designing, carving and block printing repeat patterns on paper.
  • Carve your first (tessellating) repeat block in the workshop

These two workshops build upon each other and are designed for beginners, no prior knowledge is required.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have the skills and knowledge needed to carve your own stamps and create prints on your own. You'll understand how repeat patterns work and have the skills and knowledge to print repeat patterns from your own hand-carved stamps, as well as the confidence to apply what you have learned to your own projects.
